STLI is a non-profit, international development and humanitarian organization, incorporated in 1989 in California. In 1993, the Kyrgyz government invited STLI to bring volunteer professionals to teach in the universities. Other programs quickly evolved and grew, with support from World Bank, USAID, and others. In 2016, we registered an office in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to aid with the government’s family medicine training and serve in the UNHCR refugee/IDP camps.
