Job Description:
Working with the long-term medical team to provide technical assistance to the national and regional health reform process. This includes supporting the ongoing development of a new primary care CME system (including computer-based distance education) and clinical teaching/mentoring of FM residents and faculty members. Opportunities exist in both the capital cities and outlying FM Training Centers.


Position: Public Health Physician (based in Kyrgyzstan but also involved in Tajikistan)

Minimum Skills Required:
M.D. or D.O. with an MPH or degree in International Development

Job Description:
Working with the long-term STLI medical team to provide technical assistance to the national and regional health reform process with a focus on reforming the former Soviet public health care system. This includes advising the MOH regarding regulatory changes for public health policy, developing curriculum for and teaching training courses in epidemiology, consulting on public health prevention strategies, and functioning as an integral part of the broader team of health specialists working on regional health care reform.
Position: Nurse Educator – Continuing Medical Education (Kyrgyzstan and/or Tajikistan)

RN or BSN

This includes supporting the ongoing development of the nursing component of a new primary care CME system (including computer-based distance ed.) and mentoring nursing department faculty members.

Position: Nurse Educator – Clinical Emphasis (Kyrgyzstan and/or Tajikistan)

Minimum Skills Required:
RN or BSN plus primary care outpatient clinic experience

Job Description:
Working with the long-term medical team to provide technical assistance to the nursing and nurse practitioner components of the national health reform process.  You would focus on helping local nurses to continually upgrade the quality of nursing at model clinics associated with nation’s new Family Medicine Training Centers. They might participate with the ongoing development of a new primary care CME system for nurses in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia (including computer-based distance education) and mentor nursing department faculty members.
Positions: General Dentist, Dental Hygienist, or Dental Technician (Kyrgyzstan only)

Minimum Skills Required: Basic degree plus some experience


Job Description:
Working with the dental training team (composed of dentists, dental technicians and dental hygienists from several different countries and organizations) to support and participate in developing the dental care system in Kyrgyzstan bycontributing to the clinical training of national trainees, project administration, faculty development, and relating with the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health and other national health entities involved in the dental reform process. Accountable to the Director of the STLI Dental Project.

Position: Ob/Gyn Physician or Midwife (Kyrgyzstan and/or Tajikistan)

Minimum Skills Required: Obstetrician or midwife, preferably with international MCH experience.

Job Description:
Working with the long-term medical team in Kyrgyzstan or Tajikistan to provide technical assistance to the national and regional health reform process.  This person/people would focus on helping to implement the WHO program “Safe Motherhood” nationally in Kyrgyzstan and/or in pilot areas in Tajikistan.  They could be involved in the inpatient component, outpatient component (linked to the primary care CMEproject), or both.
